African Waist beads are a symbol of femininity, fertility, sensuality, and spiritual well-being. Our Authentic Waist beads are handmade using glass beads by a group of Maasai women in Kenya.
Many cultures give them to young girls as initiation gifts as they transition from puberty to woman hood. They are also given as wedding gifts to embrace their sexuality on the first night after their wedding ceremony. Waist beads are also used to curb weight gain and maintain shapely waistlines.
Egrets are medium to large wading birds with long necks and legs. They fly with their necks retracted, unlike other long-necked birds such as storks, ibises and spoonbills. They are usually found wading in shallow ponds.
Please measure your waist carefully before placing an order. If you are in between sizes, order the next size up for a more comfortable fit. Returns are not accepted due to human error.
