African Waist beads are a symbol of femininity, fertility, sensuality, and spiritual well-being. Our Authentic Waist beads are handmade using glass beads by a group of Maasai women in Kenya.
Many cultures give them to young girls as initiation gifts as they transition from puberty to woman hood. They are also given as wedding gifts to embrace their sexuality on the first night after their wedding ceremony. Waist beads are also used to curb weight gain and maintain shapely waistlines.
Swifts are small birds which spend the majority of their lives flying. They have very short legs and never settle voluntarily on the ground, perching instead only on vertical surfaces. They can be found in the Western part of Kenya close to the shores of Lake Victoria.
Please measure your waist carefully before placing an order. If you are in between sizes, order the next size up for a more comfortable fit. Returns are not accepted due to human error.
